No two artists are alike ... their diversity includes variances in experience, style and attitude. However, there are many commonalities, artists enjoy meditative time, time alone ...

... they have a love for aesthetics. They are fulfilled when they are able to draw their imagination, reality and/or desires for the world to see.

Art can be mastered at any age, that makes it magical. This is not a talent that one must be born with ... although it seems that many of the masters pick up the impulse to indulge in drawing at a very early age. Drawing can be practiced and improved upon over time.

The secret ingredient to a great artist is the ability to clearly see and store into memory details of their surroundings including people, animals and other objects that they intend to draw at some point. This may sound like a burden but most are so adept at this skill that it is done naturally and on a sub-conscious level.

The avid artist knows this could include anything in life so they are always making mental notes.



The basis of drawing and/or sketching is largely measuring and coordinating the hand to interpret a representation seen by the eyes. If you get the measurements right you are much more likely to end up with a realistic looking drawing.

Although to uneducated beginners creating fine artwork may be a daunting task ... it is a skill that can be learned. Drawing simply requires practice. There are numerous tutorials available, as well as books and even schools that can provide the instructions required to perfect one’s drawing abilities. Many of the most skilled artists are self-taught.

Anyone desiring to become an accomplished artist adept at drawing various objects should practice the craft regularly thereby fine tuning his/her work. After one is skilled at memorizing details and at using correct measurements the drawing component becomes the easy part.

Drawing is a great way to reduce stress and to be creative. Let your creativity flow ... be inspired by the masters of the art world then practice, practice, practice. You will soon find that your drawings are indeed works of art!
